The Salt Lake Petroleum Section (SLPS) of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is pleased to offer the Richard E. Wyman Scholarship in the amount of $2000 to select students pursuing an engineering or technical degree that will lead to a career in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. The scholarship is for the 2019-2020 academic year. To receive the monetary award, recipients must enroll as full-time students for the 2019 Fall Semester. Residents from the Section service area, including parts of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming, are eligible to apply for this award.
Scholarship recipients will be selected through an application process in early May 2019 by a Scholarship Selection Committee. The scholarship application form can be found by selecting Scholarships on the About Us tab. To apply for the scholarship, please download the form, fill in all requested information, and then email the completed form with any other attachments to firstname.lastname@example.org. Application deadline is May 1, 2019.
Completed application forms are welcome from residents of the Section area that are currently attending or planning to attend any accredited institution of higher education in pursuit of an applicable engineering degree. Individuals that are accepted and planning to enter a graduate program in Petroleum Engineering are also welcome to apply for this scholarship.
